Two familiar faces have joined the action of the animated series Star Wars Resistance, one friendly and one working for the First Order.
An extended sneak peek of the latest Star Wars television series shows the team both in high-flying action and dodging blaster fire on the ground as they are pursued by First Order stormtroopers led Captain Phasma with Gwendoline Christie returning to reprise the character.
The promo also shows Oscar Isaac returning to voice Poe Dameron as he and General Leia Organa task the hotshot pilots to spy on the First Order's activities. Set shortly before the events of 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the montage of clips also unveils the devastating Starkiller Base.
"We're going to need all the help we can get," Leia observes as she realizes the First Order's schemes are far more sinister than originally expected.
Featuring a more colorful, anime-influenced style, the upcoming series looks to be more all-age friendly than the previous darker animated series Star Wars Rebels as audiences return for new adventures in that galaxy far, far away.
Premiering on October 7 on the Disney Channel, Star Wars Resistance stars Christopher Seam (Days of Our Lives), Bobby Mounihan (Ducktales), Suzie McGarth(EastEnders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera (A Fowl American).
