If this morning you felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if a million voices suddenly cried out in joy, it may be because Legoland California will officially unveil its massive model of the Death Star today.

Measuring 8 feet wide by 13 feet tall and weighing about 1,900 pounds, the display was constructed using more than a half-million bricks. The largest major addition to the theme park's four-year-old LEGO Star Wars Miniland, the Death Star includes a glowing green super-laser, six animated turbo laser turrets and circling X-Wings and TIE Fighters. (You can see a peek behind the scenes of construction on CNN.)

A similar Death Star display already exists at LEGO's Malaysia park.

The unveiling kicks off "LEGO Star Wars Days," a weekend filled with franchised-themed activities at the Carlsbad, California, resort.
