LEGO reveals first official look at its 'Doctor Who' playset

It's a pretty safe bet that this LEGO set is bigger on the inside. The Danish toymaker has unveiled the first official images of its eagerly awaited Doctor Who playset, accompanied by the text "Landing soon."

Originally designed by brick enthusiast Andrew Clark and submitted to the LEGO Ideas website, the playset was greenlit for production in February. It's the first Who-themed LEGO release.

As Clark details in the submission video below, the TARDIS opens to help create the interior control room. His design called for the inclusion of minifigures of the Fourth Doctor, the Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler, a Dalek, a Weeping Angel and a Cyberman. It's unclear which will be featured in the final product -- although Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor and Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald seem highly likely, considering the design of the console and their involvement in the LEGO Dimensions video game.

Expect more details soon.
