As Aquaman continues to set new box office records worldwide for the DCEU, Jason Momoa's return to the fan-favorite role will be coming much sooner than expected.

A new promo for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part posted on the film's official Instagram account has Momoa reprise his superhero role and team up with his classic counterpart.

The deep-sea duo catch some gnarly waves with Momoa's DCEU incarnation of the character riding on the back of the classic version like a surfboard.

The classic, LEGO version of Aquaman had previously appeared in both 2014's The LEGO Movie and last year's The Lego Batman Movie though he had no lines in either appearance. The direct-to-video LEGO DC Superheroes: Aquaman - Rage of Atlantis released earlier this year had the character voiced by Dee Bradley Baker though it is unclear if Baker will reprise his role in The LEGO Movie 2 or if the classic character will have any lines at all.
