After initially targeting a late 2015 release, TT Games' "LEGO Marvel's Avengers" game will now hit stores in early 2016. As reported by Gamespot, the next Marvel installment in the game company's popular LEGO line will arrive on January 26, 2016.
Unlike the previous LEGO Marvel game, "LEGO Marvel's Avengers" will follow the plots of 2012's "Marvel's the Avengers" and this year's "Avengers: Age Of Ultron." But just because the story will be familiar to fans of the films doesn't mean there won't be more than a few comics-specific heroes in the game. In addition to revealing a release date, "LEGO Marvel's Avengers" has also announced that Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Speed of the Young Avengers and the new Thor will all be included in the game.
"It's not like in the old games where you'd play 'Avengers' and then play 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,'" said Parsons. "That wouldn't work because of the time lapse in between. So what we've done is stitch them together. Our opening level is the beginning of 'Ultron,' where they're attacking von Strucker's castle, but when Tony grabs Loki's staff, it segues to the scene from 'Avengers' when Loki got the staff, and you then play through the rest of 'Avengers.'"
"LEGO Marvel's Avengers" will be released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC on January 26, 2016.
