If "The LEGO Batman Movie's" version of The Joker fails to instill terror in the hearts of Gotham's citizens, it's probably because the Brick Knight always thwarts his plans to take over this city. But this time, the Clown Prince of Crime has some help.
In a new clip from the "LEGO Movie" spinoff, Zach Galifianakis' criminal mastermind rattles off the long list of accomplices he's recruited to help him to finally accomplish his goal. The villainous roll call starts off impressively enough, with The Riddler, Scarecrow, Bane, Two-Face, Catwoman and The Penguin. But from there, the quality of rogues drops dramatically with the likes of Crazy Quilt, Polka-Dot Man, March Harriet, Kite Man and, yes, Condiment King.
"OK," a "menaced" airplane pilot asks Joker, "are you making some of those up?"
What they lack in, um, believability they make up for in sheer numbers, which will apparently lead Will Arnett's Batman to determine he needs to give up the brooding-loner act, and call on some allies of his own.
Directed by Chris McKay from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, the 3D animated spinoff of “The LEGO Movie” features a Batman who must overcome his fear of being part of a family, take responsibility for his adopted son, and learn the importance of teamwork if he hopes to stop The Joker’s takeover of Gotham City.
Opening Feb. 10, “The LEGO Batman Movie” stars Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Mariah Carey as Mayor McCasskill, Jenny Slate as Harley Quinn and Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face.
