LEGO Batman Movie Celebrates Batman Day With New Poster

Embracing the meme “Always Be Yourself, Unless You Can Be Batman,” Warner Bros. marked Batman Day with the release of a new poster for “The LEGO Batman Movie.”

Established in 2014 by DC Comics to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Dark Knight’s debut, Batman Day (Sept. 17) is observed with creator signings, sales and even free copies of “Batman” #1 from this year’s DC Rebirth.

A spinoff of 2014’s “The LEGO Movie,” “The LEGO Batman Movie” sees Will Arnett reprise his voice role as the Dark Knight, joined by Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker.

In the film, Batman discovers that if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

“The LEGO Movie” earned $469 million worldwide, and won an Academy Award for best original song for “Everything is Awesome.” A sequel is planned for Feb. 8, 2019, with another spinoff, “The LEGO Ninjago Movie,” set for release next year.

Arriving Feb. 10, 2017, “The LEGO Batman Movie” is directed by Chris McKay from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith.
