LEGO has revealed several new space-themed sets as the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 space mission -- which saw astronauts from the United States of America successfully land and walk on the moon -- draws near.

The NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander set retails for $99.99 USD/$139.99 CAD and will release June 1. The set consists of 1087 pieces and measures 7" tall, 8" wide and 7" deep. The set features two astronaut minifigures, separate ascent and descent stages, a depiction of the lunar surface, footprints and a U.S. flag.

“We have a deep understanding of the ways in which play can have lifelong impact, and we have been champions of the awe and wonder of space exploration through playful building for almost as long as the world’s celebration of the first moon landing,” Senior Director Brand Relations Michael McNally said in a statement. “There are countless stories of engineers, scientists, astronauts, and roboticists who point to their experiences with LEGO building as the reason they are engaged in their current careers. We hope that our ongoing commitment to space-themed play materials will inspire future generations to help us continue exploring.”

LEGO also announced seven new LEGO City Space sets inspired by NASA's plans for future trips to the Moon and Mars. The collections will be available in North America on June 23. You can find the descriptions and prices for those sets, along with pictures for those City Space sets and the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander below.
