LEGO Unveils 4700 Piece Star Wars Imperial Destroyer Set

LEGO has unveiled a brand new Imperial Star Destroyer set -- and you're going to need a lot of space to build and display it.

The toy company announced that the new set will contain a whopping 4784 pieces, over 1500 more than the previous model released back in 2002. Measuring in at 43 inches long, 17 inches high and 22 inches wide, the set will cost $699.99 and be available on Oct. 1. However, LEGO VIPs can get the set a few weeks early, as it will be available for them starting on Sep. 18.

LEGO also released a trailer to go along with the set.

The new set is part of the LEGO Ultimate Collectors Series, which is no stranger to Star Wars themed products. In 2017, LEGO released a collectors version of the Millennium Falcon that came in at 7,500 pieces.

The Empire's finest ship also includes two minfigures--Imperial Officer and Imperial Crewmember-- a display stand with informational fact plaque and and attachable, buildable scaled version of the Rebel's Tantive IV starship.

LEGO really went all out with the design, making it as authentic as possible. The Destroyer comes equipped with swiveling guns, a tilting radar dish and huge engine exhausts.
