A new preview for the upcoming second season of FX's Legion shows off more of the show's unique visual style and includes footage that may hint more at the plot.

The video shows snippets of several different interactions between protagonist David Haller and the show's other characters. Although most of the trailer is focused on David, there are two notable exceptions: one clip shows an elliptical pod being hoisted into the air and another shows that there's a man inside of the pod.

According to showrunner Noah Hawley, Season 2 will pick up about a year after the events of the finale, with David trying to figure out what’s occurred during that time.

Developed by Hawley (Fargo), Legion is based on Marvel Comics character David Haller, the mentally ill — and immensely powerful — son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier. Legion stars Dan Stevens as David, who was diagnosed at an early age with schizophrenia and spent much of his life in and out of mental institutions. However, as the first season unfolded, he learned that he isn’t mentally ill but had instead been possessed since childhood by Amahl Farouk, the psychic parasite known as the Shadow King. In the Season 1 finale, the Shadow King was freed from David’s body and unleashed into the world, and David teleported into a mysterious mechanical orb and taken away.

Premiering April 3 on FX, Legion Season 2 will be 10 episodes. The series stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, Rachel Keller as Syd Barrett, Amber Midthunder as Kerry Loudermilk, Aubrey Plaza as Lenny Busker, Bill Irwin as Cary Loudermilk, Jeremie Harris as Ptonomy Wallace, Jean Smart as Dr. Melanie Bird and Jemaine Clement as Oliver Bird
