Hawkgirl Has a Major Role in Bendis' Legion of Super-Heroes, Superman

Brian Michael Bendis has revealed that Hawkgirl and her home planet of Thanagar will play a role in both Superman and Legion of Super-Heroes.

"Thanagar is a HUGE part of the New United Planets going forward," Bendis said on Twitter. "AND the story gets told in modern day in Superman and 1000 years from now in Legion Of Super Heroes simultaneously... so yes!"

Currently appearing in the pages of Justice League, the Kendra Saunders incarnation of Hawkgirl was created by James Robinson, David Goyer and Scott Benefiel and debuted in 1999's JSA: Secret Files #1. However, she grew in popularity thanks to her role on the early 2000s Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series and was also featured alongside Hawkman Carter Hall in Season 1 of The CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

The current Legion of Super-Heroes series spins directly from the pages of Superman and the two-part miniseries Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium and centers on Jon Kent as he joins the team in the future DC Universe.
