In addition to the cover art for Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #2 and a handful of new pieces of Legionnaire concept art by Ryan Sook, DC has released five pages from Brian Michael Bendis and André Lima Araújo's story from the two-part event's first issue.
Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium follows one main character -- someone Bendis says is very familiar to DC fans -- who has found herself newly endowed with immortality. As the character learns to cope with her situation, she will travel across a thousand years into the DC Universe's future, bringing what were once disparate continuities all into a single timeline that leads to the Legion's era and new title.
In the preview below, we see what happens when the series' mysterious protagonist meets with one of DC's lesser-known heroes in the far future, Tommy Tomorrow, a Bronze Age character who hasn't been seen since 2013's Threshold series by Keith Giffen, Tom Raney, Scott Kolins and Phil Winslade. Prior to that, Tommy had been relegated almost exclusively to brief appearances in alternate reality stories. His still mysterious role in LoSH: Millennium appears to be the biggest he's ever held in mainstream DC continuity.
Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 lands in stores Wednesday, Sept. 18, Issue #2 arrives Oct. 2, and the ongoing Legion of Super-Heroes series kicks off in November. Scroll down further for more art from the two-part event.
