The star of FX's acclaimed Legion, David Haller, is making his comic book comeback in January with an all-new series, as Marvel Comics continues to expand the X-Men corner of its universe.
Though the comic's creative team has not been revealed, Marvel announced that the character will helm a new, self-titled series with the debut of the first issue's cover, illustrated by an uncredited artist. The publisher did not release any solid information regarding the series' storylines, or whether it's an ongoing or limited series, but it promises more details will be revealed during New York Comic Con which runs Oct. 5-8.
Though David Haller has never really been more than a B-list player in the Marvel Universe, Legion's profile has risen considerably in recent years thanks to showrunner Noah Hawley's FX series starring the character. Whether the new comic will take cues from Hawley's interpretation of Legion's powers and personalities remains unknown at this time, though Marvel may reveal whether this is the case during its X-Men themed NYCC presentation.
Starring Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza, Katie Aselton, Jeremie Harris, Bill Irwin, Rachel Keller and Amber Midthunder, FX's Legion will return for its planned 10-episode second season in early 2018.
