Gideon is getting a new look for DC's Legends of Tomorrow. In Season 7, the Waverider's AI will receive her own physical body, with voice actor Amy Louise Pemberton appearing on the series as a flesh-and-blood version of the character.

As announced at Comic-Con@Home, Pemberton's Gideon will take up a whole new role on the team in Season 7 when she gets a physical body. However, this won't be the first time Pemberton has appeared in-person on the series. In fact, she has played a physical incarnation of Gideon once a season since Season 2, where she appeared to Rip Hunter in a vision. Until Season 7, each of her physical appearances was part of a hallucination or a trip to an alternate reality.

Although this is a new role for Pemberton, she has been part of the cast since the series premiere. She has lent her voice to Gideon in just about every episode of the series, totaling 93 episodes. Now, she is one of the only original cast members to remain with the series, alongside Caity Lotz and Dominic Purcell.

The announcement did not reveal how Gideon will receive her physical body, but Season 6 has certainly laid the groundwork for it by introducing cloning technology. After all, Season 6 villain Bishop has already proved he can move a consciousness from one body to another, which suggests that technology could download Gideon's personality into a physical form. However, since details are being kept under wraps for now, that's only some light speculation as the season forges ahead.

Legends of Tomorrow airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
