WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the current season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow

The time has come for another season of Legends of Tomorrow to bring its latest time-traveling epic to a close. With the time demon Mallus now freed from his prison and ready to wreak havoc on the world, the Legends will travel to the Wild West for a final showdown, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

While the show was recently picked up for a fourth season, and we know that something will happen to set that forthcoming season in place, along with making John Constantine and Ava Sharpe future Waverider... riders, we don't know exactly what'll happen in the episode itself. However, the show has several threads it'll need to resolve by the end of the finale.

Perhaps the biggest is just how the Totems can be used to defeat Mallus. With the Legends now in possession of all six of the glowing rocks, it's known that they can take down the demon, but the specifics as to how that can be done are up in the air. When a Mallus-controlled Nora Darhk touched Zari several episodes ago, he recoiled and declared she was "one of the six." The Death Totem, specifically, is incredibly volatile and can corrupt whoever wears it; since Damien Darhk betrayed the Legends to free Mallus in the first place, it's doubtful that he'll get to wear it again for the final battle. Whoever ends up wearing it -- assuming that it's not Sara again -- will have to work hard to fight the corruption.

More importantly, it remains to be seen what'll happen to the Totems following Mallus' destruction. Vixen is destined to keep her Spirit Totem so it can be passed back down to her granddaughter, and Zari and Mick are likely to keep their respective Air and Fire Totems as well, assuming the fight doesn't destroy them or render them inert. But it's anyone's guess as to what'll happen to the Earth, Death, and Water Totems. It's doubtful that the latter can bring back Kuasa at all after Mallus ripped it from her chest, and they're too powerful to be left scattered across the world or on the Waverider itself.

It's a good thing, then, that the Legends will have help in their fight against Mallus. Thanks to the Old West setting, they'll be aided once again by notorious cowboy Jonah Hex. Also coming along for the ride will be Constantine and Ava, which is to be expected; Constantine deals in demons of all kinds, after all, and Ava wouldn't avoid fighting a time demon with her girlfriend when they previously fought pirates and vikings side by side.

The finale will also see the return of Jefferson Jackson after he departed the team following the death of Firestorm co-pilot Martin Stein. A lot has happened since Jax took his leave absence to figure out who he is without his other half, and it remains to be seen just what he's done now that he's powerless. Has he been developing weapons? Did he use that serum Martin made him during Crisis on Earth-X that would possibly give him powers similar to a certain arachnid superhero? We'll find out.

Whatever happens to Mallus and the Legends, it seems a given that both Nate and Amaya will have to depart the Waverider. Their relationship has been under stress since they got back together, and they can't ignore Amaya's future forever. She has to go back to 1942 so she can live her life so that her grandchildren Mari and Kuasa can be born, and it's made clear that Nate isn't their grandfather and Amaya will wipe her memory clear of the time she spent with the Legends. She has relative plot immunity, but Nate, not so much. It's doubtful that he'll just stay with the team after losing the woman he loves, meaning it may be time for Steel to hang up his costume.

And speaking of departing characters, what'll become of Wally West? It was established prior to Keiynan Lonsdale joining the cast that he would only be around for a limited time, but now that the show has been renewed for a fourth season, it's unclear if Lonsdale will continue to be a series regular. He fits in with the group quite nicely since Rip Hunter brought him into the fold, but if Nate winds up getting killed off, he may find himself departing to continue finding himself. His future on the show really does depend on both this finale and how the current season of The Flash shakes out.

The finale of Legends is sure to be epic and emotional, but it's worth remembering that it'll also be funny. These misfits all have a casual vibe, even when it's the end of the world, and they're sure to throw jabs at Mallus, Damien Darhk, and each other during the last showdown. Previews for the finale have shown that the Roman Legion is making a return, so Sara will get a second chance to beat Caesar's face in. And there's also a good chance that we'll see Gary the Time Agent again to gawk and look adorably pathetic as the Legends take care of business.

Finally, there's the matter of the Time Bureau. They've done good work in fixing anachronisms, but have continuously deteriorated as the season has progressed; Rip was fired and imprisoned after Damien Darhk murdered several of his agents, and Ava's currently leading after Gorilla Grodd murdered the other Director. The show has always contrived a reason for them to not be involved with the Legends unless it really hits the fan, and this seems like a moment that would call for all hands on deck. Since Ava is going to be around more often next season, it remains to be seen if the Time Bureau will also be sticking around, or if they'll be wiped out, forcing her and Rip to be with the Legends full time.

All of these will (hopefully) be answered with the finale tonight, and we can't wait to see what happens to see how these screwups mess up time for the better again.
