Longtime Arrowverse star Brandon Routh still doesn't want to leave DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

On Instagram, Routh posted a photo of himself and co-star Nick Zano, who plays Nate "Citizen Steel" Heywood. "Not too many episodes left," he wrote in the caption, only for a fan to comment, "Or you could just change your mind and not leave, Brandon."

"Not my choice," Routh replied, with a sad face emoji.

Debuting in Arrow Season 3 as scientist-turned-superhero Ray Palmer, Routh appeared as an original cast member on Legends. Routh's real-life wife Ford joined the cast in Season 3 as Nora Darhk, the reformed daughter of recurring Arrowverse villain Damien Darhk.

Recently, showrunner Keto Shimizu revealed the circumstances surrounding the characters' departure from the show -- and it looks like they'll get a happy ending, at least. "People come together for a time when they need each other, and then when they don't need each other anymore, they kind of grow apart," she explained. "That is definitely the story we're trying to tell with Ray and Nora. And we think it's the way that we build up to their departure. I think it's very loving. It comes from our love of these characters. And it comes from us wanting that story to come to the most satisfying close that we can, both for us as writers, for the actors, and for we hope the audience."

What's more, Legends star Caity Lotz suggested the two may not be gone forever. "Brandon and Courtney are going on to do great things. And on these shows, once you're gone, you're never actually fully gone," she teased in an interview with CBR.

Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Jes Macallan and Courtney Ford.
