SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Eggplant, The Witch & The Wardrobe," the latest episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

John Contantine's beloved Desmond is free from Neron's hold, but another Legend has fallen victim to the fear demon. In "The Eggplant, The Witch & The Wardrobe," the latest episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Ray "The Atom" Palmer found himself under Neron's spell.

Constantine and Nora Darhk spent the episode attempting to stop Neron once and for all. They quickly realized they would need to capture Neron in his most vulnerable form -- that is to say, when he does not have a vessel. As such, they concocted a plan to lure him out of Desmond, allowing them to destroy him while he was between hosts.

In order to convince Neron to release Desmond, Nora pretended she wanted Neron to possess him. The trick worked, and Neron exited Desmond in an attempt to use her as a host. When he was between vessels, Nora and Constantine sprung into action, using magic to contain and destroy him.

Unfortunately, the two sorcerers forgot to fill Ray in on the plan. He burst into the room as they held Neron, but his entrance startled Nora and Constantine into releasing their hold. This freed Neron for a fleeting second, though Nora quickly performed a spell that seemed to banish him. However, her magic came at a price; she fell into a coma and did not regain consciousness by the end of the episode.

Though the team is convinced Neron was destroyed in the incident, that was far from true. He managed to possess Ray when no one was looking, and even Ray doesn't seem to be aware of the change. When he left the Time Bureau, he encountered a dog that went feral when it came near him; this seemed to upset Ray, who insisted dogs usually love him. Then, as he continued on his way, he began to whistle "Pop Goes the Weasel" -- the very same song Neron had whistled throughout the episode.

Of course, Ray may be the only Legend without a dark side. Even in the wake of his wife's death, he never lost his optimism and upbeat attitude. Indeed, his unfailing enthusiasm and idealism have driven his teammates crazy on occasion. As such, Neron may hit a snag as he tries to coerce Ray into pursuing his evil agenda.

Airing Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Jes Macallan and Courtney Ford
