SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly," the Season 3 finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow just said goodbye to two more characters. In "The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly," the Season 3 finale, both Rip Hunter and Damien Darhk sacrificed their lives to save the people they love.

At the start of the episode, the Legends quickly realized that they were no match for Mallus. They beat a hasty retreat so they could regroup and come up with a plan, but they had to escape Mallus first. Sara called to Rip, who promised to create a distraction that would allow them to escape. He went into the Waveriver's central systems and removed the time core, with the intention of detonating it within range of Mallus.

When Sara realized what he was doing, she called him. He didn't back down from his plan and, instead, told the Legends that he would be with his wife and son again soon. He then confronted Mallus and overloaded the time core, which caused an explosion that killed him and weakened Mallus enough for the Legends to get away.

Damien Darhk also sacrificed his life to save his daughter Nora. With a little help from Ray Palmer, he commandeered the jump ship and traveled back to the moment where Mallus broke free. As Nora fled the Legends in Zambesi, they intercepted her before she transformed into the demon. Damien hit her with a dose of Ray's anti-magic gun, which forced Mallus out of her body.

However, that didn't stop Mallus; the demon simply needed a new vessel. Damien accepted Mallus into his own body, so that he became the demon instead of his daughter, thereby saving her life. As Damien transformed, Ray took Nora back to the time ship and the two joined the rest of the Legends in the Old West. In the final battle between the Legends and Mallus' forces, she fought alongside the Legends.

Even though Nora was arrested by Time Bureau agents at the end of the episode, this may not be the last time we see her. Before they led her away, Ray slipped the Time Stone into her hands, which means she will probably use it to escape confinement. Since the Legends will be facing more mystical challenges next season, she could appear as a useful ally, as she still possesses magical talents like her father.

Returning to The CW for a fourth season, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood/Steel and Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash.
