WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Zari," the latest episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Zari has a little something in common with Vixen: a totem. In "Zari," the latest episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, the team traveled to the near future to stop Kuasa from assassinating Zari, 0nly to end up recruiting her to the team because of her commonality with Vixen.

When the Legends landed in Seattle to save her, Zari led them on a wild goose chase so that she could obtain an amulet stolen from her brother by A.R.G.U.S., which had become authoritarian force. She convinced them to break into A.R.G.U.S. headquarters by claiming she would act as bait for Kuasa, but only if they rescued her brother first. As it turned out, her brother was dead; she was really after the amulet all along. Taking the Legends by surprise, she was able to use the amulet's power to fly off, only for Ray to tail her.

When Ray caught up to her, she was sitting among the ruins of a camp. She explained to him that her group had left her behind, though they had said they would wait for her to return. As they spoke, Kuasa found them and demanded the amulet. A fight ensued. Using her ability to turn into water, Kuasa began to drown Ray, only for Zari to step up to save him. The amulet enabled her to battle Kuasa with a blast of concentrated energy.

Soon, Vixen and a handful of other Legends showed up to join the fight. Vixen was able to repel Kuasa, who fell to the ground. Only then did Kuasa flee, but only because killing Vixen would end her own life. Though Amaya is unaware, Kuasa -- who appeared as an antagonist in the CW Seed's animated Vixen series -- is her granddaughter.

After Kuasa left, Vixen turned to Zari and explained that Zari's amulet was in fact a totem like hers. Earlier in the episode, when she had connected to her own totem in order to fix her problem with it, Vixen had a moment where she realized the truth about Zari's amulet. As such, she personally invited Zari to become a member of the team so that they could learn more about their connection.
