DC's Legends of Tomorrow has perhaps more cast upheaval every year than all the other CW superhero shows combined, but one of those changes will not be Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, as the actor confirmed on Twitter today that she will, in fact, return for Season 3 of the hit series.

Just recently, it was revealed that Keiynan Lonsdale would not return to the series as a regular, leaving after the Season 4 premiere. However, despite Amaya seemingly leaving the team at the end of Season 3, when she volunteered to re-enter the timeline even knowing that it would lead to her eventual death in her future, that will not be the end of Richardson-Sellers' tenure on the series.

The actress wrote on Twitter to say that not only will she be returning, but that Season 4 will be "weirder and more wonderful than ever":

After Season 3's finale, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim noted that Richardson-Sellers would return, telling EW, “Yes, Maisie will absolutely be back. We just felt like we owed it to the character to complete this arc, complete this story loop that we got her in. Once we took her off of her path in 1942, it was always incumbent upon us to return her to that path. That was something that hung over us as writers, and hung over the character… I’m looking forward to a different storyline for Amaya next year. We’ll reveal our plans for Maisie’s character at Comic-Con this year.”

However, the show has routinely found a way to revisit former characters from the series through guest appearances where the actors make short-lived returns to the show, like Arthur Darvill's Rip Hunter returning a number of times after leaving the show as a series regular after Season 1. So, until Richardon-Sellers confirmed it today, we did not know that she would be a regular on Season 4. It is very likely that the return of Amaya will tie in with Season 4's so-called "Fugitives." In fact, there has to be a real possibility that Vixen, who has magical powers herself, might technically be a "Fugitive."

Returning to The CW on Monday, October 22 at 9 pm ET/PT, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood/Steel, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, Tala Ashe as Zari Tomaz, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe and Courtney Ford as Nora Darhk.
