The CW has released photos and an official synopsis for the Season 6 premiere of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
Titled "Ground Control To Sara Lance," the episode picks up in the aftermath of Season 5 with Sara Lance being abducted by aliens. As Sara attempts to escape her captors, the other Legends mount a hunt through time to save her. The episode also promises to reveal the "secret origin" of former Time Bureau agent Gary Green.
According to executive producer/showrunner Phil Klemmer, a large part of Season 6 will focus on how the Legends operate in Sara's absence. "When a family loses a parent, and a bunch of children, Party of Five-style, have to raise themselves, it's gonna be really interesting," Klemmer said. "It's also going to afford Sara a chance to have a separate storyline." In addition to new cast member Lisseth Chavez, Arrow alum David Ramsey will also join the series in a mystery role.
Legends of Tomorrow recently had a shakeup behind the scenes, as Dominic Purcell -- who portrays Mick Rory/Heatwave -- is leaving the series as a regular after Season 6. Purcell later clarified that he would return in a guest star capacity as part of a handshake deal with Klemmer.
A MISSING CAPTAIN -- After a night of celebrating their beating the Fates, the Legends quickly discover that Sara (Caity Lotz) is missing. Trying to keep it together, the Legends are shocked to discover that she was taken by Aliens. Ava (Jes Macallan) sends Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) to follow a lead on who can possibly help them find Sara, while Constantine (Matt Ryan) tries to work his magic. Meanwhile, Sara does all she can to try to escape, which includes releasing Aliens into the timeline, but is shocked to learn who one of her kidnappers turns out to be. Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Olivia Swann, Adam Tsekham and Lisseth Chavez also star. Kevin Mock directed the episode written by James Eagan & Mark Bruner (601). Original airdate 5/02/2021
