After eight years, fans of the Arrowverse and Supernatural finally got a crossover. While on a mission, two of the Legends of Tomorrow end up on the set of Supernatural, and fans learn that their favorite resurrected assassin is in fact a Dean Girl. Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) being a fan of the show Supernatural comes as a happy surprise as her own life is usually filled with paranormal events from the time demon, Mallas, of Season 3 to the merry band of mythical creatures of Season 4, so it is nice to know she likes to wind down and watch the Winchester brothers and their angel save the world.

In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 5, Episode 8, "Zari, Not Zari," audiences see Sara and Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) travel to British Columbia in the year 2020 to find the last piece of the Loom of Fate. They run into a set announcement for Supernatural, which, like all of the Arrowverse shows, is filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sara is ecstatic over the news as she reveals to viewers that Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) is her hall-pass. This makes sense since both characters have many similarities .

The eldest of the two Winchester brothers is famous for constantly dying and coming back through magical means, similar to how Sara was killed in Arrow Season 3 and eventually brought back to life in Season 4. Dean and Sara are also tough fighters who stay composed in a fight and look cool while saving the world. Their skills help them act with flawless ease as they battle powerful villains, all of whom can easily take them down, yet both Sara and Dean have a tendency to defy all odds.

Another similarity lies within their love for their siblings. Dean would do anything for his brother, Sam (Jared Padalecki), even going so far as to go to literal Hell and back. Sara has also done everything to make sure her sister, Laurel (Katie Cassidy), remains safe as well. After coming back from Nanda Parbat, Sara acts as Laurel's personal guardian angel and vigilante, swooping in to save her and take care of her when Laurel is struggling to cope with the death of her boyfriend, Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell).

Supernatural: Destiny's Child

Sara being a Dean Girl makes perfect sense over her being either a Sam Girl or a Castiel (Misha Collins) Girl as Sara historically tends to be attracted to more dangerous and rugged characters. While both Sam and Castiel have had an occasional chance to be the bad boy of the trio, they are mainly soft spoken and calmer in their personalities, mainly opting for the ask-questions-first approach. This makes them very different from Sara's past relationships with people such as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Nyssa Al Ghul (Katrina Law), who would strike first at the chance for a fight.

This episode also give both Legends of Tomorrow and Supernatural fans some amazing meta-commentary through Sara, who, after seeing the dead bodies of Supernatural production members, exclaims, "Wait, if they're dead, then who's shooting Season 15?" A silly feud between the Arrowverse and Supernatural also stems from the friendship between Stephen Amell, star of Arrow, and Padalecki and Ackles, which sparked fans' hopes of a crossover.

Unfortunately, due to Arrow ending after its eighth season and Supernatural reaching the end of the line after Season 15, this possibility is unlikely, so the cameo of the infamous Impala is the best audiences can get. While fans did not get Sam and Dean helping Oliver Queen with a villain or the brothers bumping into Constantine (Matt Ryan), it is nice to see this meta-crossover that provides tons of laughter between both fandoms.

Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan and Jes Macallan.
