SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "No Country for Old Dads," the latest episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Gorilla Grodd has returned to DC's Legends of Tomorrow. At the end of "No Country for Old Dads," the latest episode, he reemerged in the timeline and wreaked havoc on the Time Bureau, killing Director Bennett in the process.

As the episode drew to a close, Agent Ava Sharpe contacted Director Bennett to let him know that that the anachronisms were breaking time, the only thing trapping Mallus. As the anachronisms multiply, time fractures more and more, and Mallus comes even closer to breaking free. As such, Damien and Nora Darhk are continuing to create anachronisms in order to free their demon master.

However, Bennett had no time for Sharpe. He informed her that he was on his way to stop Alexander Hamilton from seeing Hamilton and dismissed her. As he went on his way, Gorilla Grodd plummeted out of the sky. Grodd tore through a couple agents and then killed Bennett as Sharpe, Rip Hunter and the Legends looked on. Bennett's death effectively puts Sharpe in charge of the Time Bureau, as she is the highest ranking officer left at the organization.

The telepathic gorilla last appeared in "Welcome to the Jungle," the seventh episode of the current season. In the earlier episode, Damien Darhk saved Grodd from certain doom. In "No Country for Old Dads," it appears as though Grodd is repaying his debt to Darhk by distracting the Time Bureau. It is unclear if Grodd will maintain a presence on the show following this brief cameo.

In her new office as Director, Sharpe cleared Rip and restored him as an agent at the Time Bureau. The two returned to the agency, but not before Rip slyly told Gideon to delete a file about Sharpe so that Sara -- Sharpe's new beau -- never sees it. Nevertheless, whatever Rip has on Ava probably won't stay buried for long.

Airing Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood/Steel and Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash.
