"Legends of Tomorrow" Featurette Confirms Jewel Staite's Role, Relationship to Main Character

How shiny! "Firefly" alum Jewel Staite will guest star in "Progeny," the next episode of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," but few details were known about her mysterious role as Rachel Taylor -- until now. A new behind-the-scenes featurette confirms her character will be related to none other than Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer. She's his great-great-great-great granddaughter, as it were.

RIP CROSSES THE LINE IN HIS EFFORT TO SAVE HIS FAMILY - Rip (Arthur Darvill) tells the team they are headed to the future to take out a powerful ally that Savage (guest star Casper Crump) needs in order to conquer the world.  However, when Rip reveals the ally is a 14 year-old boy (guest star Cory Gruter-Andrew) who will one day grow into an evil dictator, the team is split about the morality of killing a child, even if it does save the world.  Meanwhile, Sara (Caity Lotz) talks Snart (Wentworth Miller) through a rough patch and Ray (Brandon Routh) learns something that could impact his future with Kendra (Ciara Renee).  David Geddes directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer and Marc Guggenheim (#110). Airing Thursday nights at 8 pm EST on The CW, "Legends of Tomorrow" stars Caity Lotz as White Canary, Brandon Routh as the Atom, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein (one-half of Firestorm), Franz Drameh as Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (the other half of Firestorm), Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl and Arthur Darvill as time-traveler Rip Hunter.
