Arrow alum David Ramsey will make a guest appearance on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, but he may not reprise his role as Diggle on that particular DC TV series.

Earlier this week, Ramsey was announced as returning for five episodes across Superman & Lois, Supergirl, The Flash, Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow. While he is confirmed to play Diggle in Superman & Lois, Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman, his Legends of Tomorrow role remains up in the air. Entertainment Weekly describes his Legends role as "currently being kept under wraps."

Of course, Legends of Tomorrow has a history of enlisting other Arrowverse characters with new twists or updates. For instance, the Season 1 episode "Star City 2046" brought in Stephen Amell as an older, grizzled version of Oliver Queen. Likewise, The Flash alum Wentworth Miller returned to play Earth-X's version of Captain Cold, who is a hero as opposed to a villain, in Season 3. As such, Ramsey may not appear as the Diggle fans know and love during his guest role on the show.

When Arrow came to a close earlier this year, the series finale left the future wide open for Diggle, who has played a major role since the original Arrowverse show premiered. In "Fadeout," Diggle appeared to receive his Green Lantern ring. The closing montage, which revealed the members of Team Arrow heading their separate ways, picked up with Diggle as he finished packing up his house to move to Metropolis. Suddenly, a fireball crashed right in front of him, leaving behind a smoking crater. There, he discovered a small box. When he opened it, the contents glowed green, suggesting John Diggle of Earth had been invited to join the Green Lantern Corps. However, it is unclear if Ramsey's upcoming episodes will explore the fallout of this revelation.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman and Shayan Sobhian. Season 6 will premiere in 2021 on The CW.
