WARNING: The following contains spoilers for DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 7, Episode 1, "The Bullet Blondes," which aired Wednesday on The CW.

Zari Tarazi and John Constantine were star-crossed lovers from the very beginning of their relationship. While they grew to understand and fall in love with each other throughout Season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow, they were destined for a devastating end, as is the case with all of John Constantine's relationships. However, this was the first time that John was the one to suffer the deadly fate. While he was eventually resurrected by the Fountain of Imperium, John left Zari and the Waverider behind to move on with his life. Before departing, he left Zari a mysterious key, telling her she'd know what it was for eventually. That answer came in the premiere episode of Legends of Tomorrow's Season 7.

It's a brand new season with brand new problems as the Legends of Tomorrow find themselves stranded in 1925 with no Waverider or future tech. However, Ava placed a black box in the Waverider, giving them a chance at getting home. Unfortunately, they found the box empty, putting them back to square one. To top it all off, the Waverider explosion and the black box drew the attention of J. Edgar Hoover. The Legends panicked, worrying about what Hoover could do to not only them but to Spooner's mother Gloria. They hid in her house as Hoover made his way inside but were not confident with their hiding spots. They then spotted a locked closet, which gave Zari the idea to use John's key to unlock it, assuming it to be a skeleton key of sorts. However, once the knob turned, the Legends were greeted by the hallway of John's mansion, the House of Mystery.

Shocked, the Legends assumed the key brought them back to the present until Gary clarified that while they were in the House of Mystery, they have not moved in time at all. They were in a pocket dimension created by Constantine to mimic his home so he could have true privacy. Another interesting fact about this pocket dimension is that it is housed in Hell. With the mystery of the key solved, Zari only found herself more confused over the gift, questioning why John would leave her such a desolate place. Behrad tried comforting his sister by suggesting that John gave it to her so she could get away from the spotlight and have some time for herself. While Zari pushed it off at first, she opted to spend some more time in this pocket dimension while the Legends went off to finish the mission at hand.

Zari's breakup with John seems to have heavily affected her, as he was the first person to fall in love with Zari Tarazi and not "Dragon Girl." This season seems to be hinting at a Zari makeover, be it physical or mental, which could give audiences a third "version" of Zari. Regardless, it is great to see Zari starting to move on from Constantine. But the drama does not end there, as next week will find the Legends of Tomorrow crossing paths with Dr. Gwynn Davies, who will be portrayed by Constantine actor Matt Ryan.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 airs Wednesday nights on The CW.
