WARNING: The following contains spoilers for DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5, Episode 13, "I Am Legends," which aired Tuesday on the CW.

In the latest episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, the Waverider's resident master of the dark arts, John Constantine (Matt Ryan), locked lips with social media star Zari Tarazi (Tala Ashe). This was somewhat shocking, as last season Zari and Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) were destined to be together, something that was hinted to return with the new version of Zari. However, the latest episode of the series, "I Am Legends," introduced a new love interest for Zari, and he might be a better match for her than Nate.

Due to a change in the timeline during the Heyworld event, the Zari introduced in Season 3 was erased from the timeline, as the team prevented ARGUS' Anti-Metahuman Act of 2021. In her place, Zari's previously deceased brother, Behrad Tarazi (Shayan Sobhian), joined the team. Still, when Zari was reintroduced to the Legends, Nate started getting visions of the old Zari, who he had a romantic relationship with before she vanished from existence.

Throughout her time on the Waverider, Zari received visions of her old life, regaining her hacking skills, her love of donuts and her interest in Nate in the process. While this Zari did not have the same feelings towards Nate, it seemed like a return to the status quo was on the horizon. While it became clear the old Zari wouldn't return, a pep talk from that previous version of the hero residing in the Air Totem gave this new Zari a chance to grow and prove that she was going to stick around. Zari's relationship with Nate has not been rekindled, though, as she believes it would be weird to date her brother's best friend. Making matters worse for Nate, she and Constantine kiss before going much, much farther.

John Constantine has had a colorful history with love interests and has had a tough season, having to face off against Astra, the girl he doomed to Hell in his own series, as an adult. On top of that, he's had quit smoking to prevent the inevitable lung cancer in his future. Zari has stood by his side through his healing. She has stopped him from picking up smoking again and remained supportive of him.

Zari's character is also a polar opposite of Constantine. While he has been mired in a life of darkness and loneliness, Zari's positive energy could in many ways improve Constantine, while he himself serves a realistic counterbalance. The two can potentially bring out the best in each other and grow with each other, making them a potentially interesting pairing. Plus, it's about time Nate started dating someone from his own timeline.

Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan and Jes Macallan.
