DC's Legends of Tomorrow has cast Donald Faison for its upcoming Season 7 finale. While Faison's role has not yet been officially revealed, an official character description certainly makes it sound like the Scrubs actor is playing the greatest hero you've never heard of, Booster Gold.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Faison will appear in Legends of Tomorrow Season 7's 13th and final episode, "Knocked Down, Knocked Up," which is slated to air on The CW on Wednesday, March 2. The official description for Faison's character reads, "The Legends first encounter this character at a different phase of his career whose golden years are in the rearview mirror. He is good guy deep down; his ego is looking for a boost that only fame, fortune, and glory can provide. While he claims to have been recruited to work for a mysterious time organization, he wasn't offered much of a choice in the matter."

The description goes on to call Faison's character "an unauthorized time traveler with high-profile aspirations, he developed a mischievous streak and cuts a few corners along the way to achieving his dreams. He knows all about the Legends of Tomorrow and finds them inspiring because they are the kind of heroes who started at the ground floor, as opposed to inheriting their powers from an alien planet, a spider bite, or wealthy parents. But the big question is whether his respect for the team is going to be able to help the Legends out of hot water or get them into hotter water!"

"I have been a fan of Legends of Tomorrow since the first season, and have always wanted to be a part of the DC Comics universe," Faison told Entertainment Weekly. "I'm excited to join such a talented cast."

Created by Dan Jurgens, Michael Jon Carter/Booster Gold first appeared in Booster Gold #1, cover-dated February 1986. Easily identifiable by his bright gold and blue suit and Legion of Super-Heroes flight ring, Booster Gold is a time-traveling superhero who was introduced as being obnoxious and fame-hungry, though became more respectable over time, even if some of his peers remained unconvinced. Booster Gold is perhaps best known for his partnership with the Ted Kord incarnation of Blue Beetle.

While it remains to be seen if Faison is actually playing Booster Gold in Legends of Tomorrow, the official description provided by The CW certainly makes his character seem to fit the bill. It even worked in the words "golden" and "boost" -- a sentence apart, no less. It should also be noted that in the original DC comics, Booster Gold is the father of fellow time-traveler Rip Hunter, who previously appeared in Legends of Tomorrow, played by Arthur Darvill.

Booster Gold was previously portrayed in live-action by Eric Martsolf in the Smallville Season 10 episode "Booster," which aired on The CW in 2011. At one point, a Booster Gold solo series was in the works at Syfy, though the project was ultimately shelved.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow's Season 7 finale, "Knocked Down, Knocked Up," airs Wednesday, March 2 on The CW.
