SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Fellowship of the Spear," the latest episode of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."

Captain Cold is back! In "Fellowship of the Spear," the latest episode of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," the smooth-talking thief made his grand re-entrance into the "Arrow"-verse. However, since he died in Season 1, many fans have wondered how exactly Cold would be able to come back to the show. Now, we have our answer: the Legion plucked him from an earlier moment in the timeline, before he sacrificed himself to save the Legends.

When Cold first arrived on the scene, Rory assumed he was another vision. Cold appeared to Rory on the battlefield during their visit to WWI; as explosions went off around them, Rory tried to figure out what was real and what wasn't -- even though Cold landed a well-placed punch right on Rory's face. However, in his confusion, he revealed the Legends' plan to Cold, who returned to the Legion and relayed that information.

The next time Rory saw Cold, he was in a group of people. When Rip uttered his disbelief at Cold's return, Rory was shocked that everyone else could see him too. Cold immediately turned on Rory and told him that he was surprised that Rory had gone so soft, seeing as Cold was only familiar with pre-"Legends" Rory. Cold also called into question the team's loyalty to Rory. Rory was just a thug to them, Cold said, and it was evident that his words got under Rory's skin. After all, Rory began to notice the Legends' hostility towards him when they questioned his loyalty.

Seeing as Rory had revealed their team to Cold, the Legends demanded to know who he was loyal to: Cold or the team. In a critical moment, Sara handed Mick the spear so that they could retrieve Jesus' blood, which they needed to destroy it. When the Legion showed up, Rory had a choice to go with them or stay with the Legends. Feeling betrayed and hurt, Rory went with the Legion, thus leaving the spear in the Legion's possession.
