An extended trailer for DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 reveals that an episode will feature animation.
According to Entertainment Weekly, one of the Season 6 episodes of Legends of Tomorrow is directed by cast member Caity Lotz and features "Disney-style animation and music."
"There are some beautiful songs and Astra, played by Olivia Swann, gets to be our version of a Disney princess," Legends of Tomorrow co-showrunner Phil Klemmer explained to EW. "The reason we did that originally is that we broke it as live-action, and then there's a point in the story where it becomes so outlandish that I was really having a difficult time seeing it in my head as live-action. I was like, 'Guys, this feels like a '90s Disney movie.' It was sort of a joke. 'What if we hired a bunch of Disney animators from the '90s who have all retired and did a '90s feature thing?'"
DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 premieres Sunday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
