Legends of Tomorrow Welcomes an All-Star Squadron Member in Season 4

When DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns for its fourth season, the series will be adding at least one, possibly two more heroes to its roster.

Announced today at the CW series' Comic-Con International panel, Alaska You is the first to join the show. Played by Ramona Young, the character is described as a "typical twenty something" who will eventually become a "kickass superhero." While it's likely she's based on a previously existing DC Comics character, the announcement was frustratingly vague in its description, though the phrase "she soon learns to get her head out of the clouds" may indicate a flying or weather ability.

The second hero is actually related to an existing Legend; Hank Heywood, Nate's father, will have a recurring role throughout the season. Played by Tom Wilson, the character's description doesn't mention any superpowers, but in the comics, Hank was a member of the World War II era All-Star Squadron as Commander Steel.Whils his son is able to transform his body to a living metal, Commander Steel's abilities came as the result of receiving robotic prosthetics and physical upgrades following an attack by Baron Blitzkrieg.

Both characters' official descriptions are as follows:

Ramona Young (Blockers, Santa Clarita Diet) joins the cast in the series regular role of Alaska Yu. A typical twentysomething easily swept up by romantic notions and fantasy novels, she’s something of an expert in the world of the magical creatures that the Legends encounter in season four. In the company of the Legends, she soon learns to get her head out of the clouds to become a kickass superhero.

Tom Wilson (The Informant, Back to the Future, The Mayor) will recur as Nate’s (Nick Zano) father, Hank Heywood. With a lifetime in the military and Dept. of Defense, Hank is part of a long line of Heywoods to serve the country. Charming and charismatic, he’s left big shoes for Nate to fill — and it doesn’t help that Nate can’t tell him he’s secretly a Legend!

Legends of Tomorrow Season 4 will see the team taking on “Fugitives,” which are legendary creatures wreaking havoc on time following the defeat of Mallus in Season 3. Actors Courtney Ford (Nora Darhk), Matt Ryan (John Constantine) and Jes Macallan (Ava Sharpe) will become series regulars, while Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West) is departing the series.

Returning to The CW on Monday, October 22 at 9 pm ET/PT, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood/Steel, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, Tala Ashe as Zari Tomaz, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe and Courtney Ford as Nora Darhk.
