The Legends of Luke Skywalker manga collection introduces great characters to compliment the legend that is Luke Skywalker. Each panel in the Star Wars manga collection introduces new settings and perspectives to the universe fans have loved since the first movie hit theaters in the '70s. Even when the manga collection retreads old storylines, they do so with a fresh perspective that offers readers a novel experience.

These novel experiences are largely due to the introduction of new original characters. In the same way that the Sequel Trilogy reinvigorated the world of star wars with Rey and Kylo Ren's introduction, The Legends of Luke Skywalker Manga accomplishes the same with characters like Zeta and Shareen. Here are ten original characters introduced in the manga collection.

10 Imperial Officer Turned Luke Skywalker Fan Boy

The Legend Of Luke Skywalker Manga _ Kid _ Imperial Officer Eats

The Imperial Officer that acts as the viewers' primary perspective throughout the first manga included in The Legends of Luke Skywalker collection is never properly named. When others address him, they call him a kid, perhaps to denote the characters' young age and lack of experience.

Throughout "The Starship Graveyard," readers will witness the young Imperial Officer change from a character who is obsessed with order to a character who has embraced the freedom that comes from chaos.

9 Zeta The Enslaved Construction Droid

The Legend Of Luke Skywalker _ Zeta gets reconstructed

The 27th series construction droid manufactured by Structgalactis is relegated to the role of prison ward as soon as Captain U'rum sells him in "I, Droid." After being repurposed, Zeta works side by side with R2D2 to fight his programming until Luke Skywalker arrives to save him.

The story in "I, Droid" gives readers the chance to see Luke Skywalker through the eyes of a droid. In fact, if it weren't for Zeta, Luke may not have been able to save his blue and white friend at all. By the end of this short manga, viewers will see Luke differently: A Jedi, a human, and a droid.

8 Captain U'rum, The Pirate

The Droid Slaver sells Zeta

Though Captain U'rum holds a small role in the plot of "I, Droid," he is memorable for his despicable career choice.  The captain is a slaver and a pirate who wanders the galaxy, searching for droids that he can steal and repurpose.

Before readers meet U'rum, they will have already acquainted themselves with Zeta, a construction droid that has donated his time to build a new settlement on the icy planet of Cro-Akon. Instead of letting Zeta continue his generous work, U'rum abducts the droid and puts him in chains.

7 Lord Kluleyeke The Slaver

Droid Slaver Buys Zeta from Captain Uruu

Even though Lord Kluleyeke seems to have an admirable understanding of droid physiology, the rest of his personality is utterly despicable. After recognizing R2D2's worth as an astromech droid with impressive aftermarket modifications, he takes him into a mine where he plans to work him until he literally melts.

Klueyeke runs a small mining operation that uses enslaved droids to find valuable minerals in locations that organic species could not survive. It wouldn't be such a despicable act if he didn't view the droids as expendable, but alas, he is just another evil Star Wars character with little to no reason behind their mania.

6 Lady Eekee The Slaver

Luke disguised as C3P0 _ Lady Eekee _ The Legend Of Luke Skywalker

Lady Eekee is roped into the same category of despicable as Lord Kluleyeke. The words she shares with the audience when C3P0 enters the story are as evil as they are ignorant.

How a businessman or woman could accept a perfectly functional protocol droid and place him in a mine that can melt his droid body is unexplainable. If the lady hoped to test the droid's allegiances before granting him a higher station, she certainly could have come up with better testing grounds than an uninhabitable mine.

5 Lugubrious Mote The Intelligent Parasite

Bug Protagonist _ Jabba's Palace _ The Legend Of Luke Skywalker

"The Tale of Lugubrious Mote" is the third manga included in The Legends of Luke Skywalker collection. Star Wars fans will immediately recognize the setting to be Jabba's Palace from Star Wars: The Return of The Jedi, but their eyes view the palace through are different this time around.

Lugubrious Mote is a tiny but intelligent bug that lives on Jabba's pet Monkey Lizard's back. The story takes the little bug from Jabba's pet to Princess Leia's pointy nose, then eventually onto Luke Skywalker's scalp as he battles the Rancor.

4 The Biology Student

Biology Student _ Panels _ The Legend Of Luke Skywalker

The Biology Student that Luke Skywalker picks up while gallivanting through the galaxy goes nameless throughout the "Big Inside" manga. Despite this, she may be the most memorable original character introduced in The Legends of Luke Skywalker's manga collection.

The adventure that Luke and this student go on is a wonderful combination of Osmosis Jones and the final few episodes of The Mandalorian season 2. Following a scholar that analyzes Luke like a foreign species as he explores a cave for signs of the force is a blast.

3 Shareen The Ancient Weaver

Weaver of the Mist _ Shareen _ The Legend Of Luke Skywalker

One of the three weavers that Luke and his scholarly friend meet on their adventure into the depths of an Exogorth is Shareen. Though she doesn't make it into The Legends of Luke Skywalker's manga collection until the final few pages, her impact cannot be forgotten.

Shareen is one of three ancient force wielders that explored the universe until finding themselves trapped in the same Exogorth that Luke explores now. Her face resembles that of a human, but her kind's antiquated nature is as alien as each of her acquaintances.

2 Awglk The Ancient Weaver

Ancient Weavers _ Luke _ Biology Student _ The Legend Of Luke Skywalker

Awglk is never denoted separately from the three ancient mist weavers that Luke meets in the "Big Inside" manga. Although, it could be the case that Awglk is the one that sensed Luke and his friend roaming around the Exogorth.

Perhaps Awglk is the most powerful of the ancient weavers, who utilizes her connection with the mist to communicate rather than relying on her words. Regardless of her actions and words, Awglk draws the readers' attention to things that go unspoken. For example, the mist that the three weavers speak of is never explicitly tied to the force, but readers should be willing to make this connection after watching Luke save Awglk and her friends from their eternal slumber.

1 Wkk'e The Ancient Weaver

Wkke _ Shareen _ Weavers _ The Legend Of Luke Skywalker

The third and final ancient force weaver that makes this list is responsible for the triplets' immortal cocoon. When the three speak to Luke of their past, it is made clear that Wkk'e is the one that invented the idea of cocooning themselves until help arrived.

Without this idea, the three never would have met Luke Skywalker and taught him a lesson on sacrifice that moved the young Jedi and readers alike. It could also be said that without Wkk'e the three never would have been eternally trapped inside an Exogorth for such a long period of time. Sometimes, it may take a bit of eternal pain to learn from past mistakes.
