WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Legendary Season 2, Episode 7, "Ovah!" and Season 2, Episode 8, "Ice Haus," which aired Thursday on HBO Max.
This week, fans of Legendary were treated to a double feature, with both Season 2, Episode 7, "Ovah," and Season 2, Episode 8, "Ice Haus," being released the same day. The former is Victorian themed, and the latter is frozen themed. This also makes up for last week, which saw no house go home; however, two house went home this week. The following will contain major spoilers for Legendary, Season 2, Episode 7 and Episode 8.
Season 2, Episode 7, "Ovah!" Category One
The Ovah! Ball kicks off with a production from each house that channels opulence and Bridgerton vibes, while also centering on one of the elements of vogue. The winning house from last week, House Tisci, also selects what element each house will perform.
First up is House Balenciaga, and Honey is back after taking some time away from the show in light of a family tragedy. Their element is catwalk, and the house decides to focus on Honey since she's been absent from the show. While they've stunned the judges before, they needed to push themselves here, earning them a 40. House Tisci is next, and they must incorporate spins and dips, hoping to redeem themselves from their Seven Deadly Sins category, where they did not use spins to their fullest. To accomplish this, Stanley dances in pointe shoes, which is rare amongst male identifying ballerinas. While the judges appreciated this and their wardrobe, they wanted more spins, giving them a 42.
House Oricci takes things in a different route by recreating a chess board for their floor performance focused number, but the performance, while high energy, felt disconnected from the music. It was a good performance, but good is not enough, earning them a 36. Garçon performs better with their "Victorian Secret" inspired duck walk performance, and it's nearly perfect because of how they incorporated their element and their stunning outfits, earning a 49. Miyake-Mugler manages to top them with their hands focused performance, earning tens across the board.
Season 2, Episode 7, "Ovah!" Category Two
The next category is all about hands, but unlike the past, the performers are going to be in shadow boxes, so the judges do not know who they are chopping. After the first round, the dancers in the red and purple boxes are left standing, with red winning. It's revealed this is Balenciaga, earning them an extra ten points, going from 40 to 50.
Season 2, Episode 7, "Ovah!" Elimination
With a tie between Balenciaga and Miyake-Mugler, it's up to guest judge Adam Lambert to choose the winner, so he selects Miyake-Mugler because they gave the best performance in the first category. As for the bottoms, it's between Oricci and Tisci, with Father Omari representing Oricci and Simone representing Tisci. In the end, Omari wins, and this deeply upsets Simone, who storms off stage. The judges do not take this lightly, calling out Simone's poor sportsmanship, especially when the other members of Tisci stood on stage for their criticisms.
Season 2, Episode 8, "Ice Haus," Category One
On to the next episode, the next category is an all house production focusing on dips and poses. Oricci is up first, and they decide to do an African Ice Age exploration, and it's a beautiful story with strong poses, but the dips could be improved on. However, it's their best performance so far, earning a 45.
Following them is Miyake-Mugler, and they deliver once again with a ski trip inspired number. Not only are their designs stellar, but they also create the illusion of them skiing during an "avalanche" and deliver on clean poses, becoming the only house to earn a perfect score twice in a row. Balenciaga is up next, and while they bring something new to the table with a Game Thrones like performance featuring fight choreography, Honey is called out for dissing her wardrobe on stage, with Law Roach bringing their score down to a 46 with his seven. Garçon also doesn't do too well with their icicle inspired number, which is dubbed a nice homage to the old ways, but it is too safe, getting a 35.
Season 2, Episode 8, "Ice Haus," Category One
The second category is "Three Fab Mice," where three house members must strut the runway in sync. Those awarded tens across the board will move on to round two, like always; however, the results of the first round, which sees only Miyake-Mugler with a perfect score, means there is no round two. This also means their perfect score from Category One is now 60, making it impossible for them to be up for elimination.
Season 2, Episode 8, "Ice Haus," Category Three
Similar rules apply for Category Three, which is "Team Face." One member of the house will serve face on the runway, and if they get tens across aboard, they move forward to round two. Unlike the last round, every house makes it to round two, and this round starts with Oricci's Gillette vs. Garçon's Stasha, with the latter winning. Stasha goes against Miyake-Mugler's Tati, with Stasha winning again; however, she is eliminated when she goes against Balenciaga's Kalik, earning Balenciaga an extra ten points.
Season 2, Episode 8, "Ice Haus," Elimination
With that win Balenciaga is saved from the bottom and proceeds on to the final three. Meanwhile, with an outstanding score of 60, Miyake-Mugler wins for a second week in a row, and they also move on to the final three. This puts Oricci and Garçon in the bottom, with Father Omari volunteering to go into the battle yet again, this time against Garçon's Egypt. It is a tie between the mainstay judges, so it is up to guest judge Demi Lovato to choose the house that stays, sending Garçon into the top three.
