The Legend Of Zelda series is one of Nintendo's most popular franchises. With a significant amount of lore, a short-lived comic book series, over 20 original games, many different manga arcs, and several remakes that make older games more accessible to a new generation. One such remake is The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask, a Nintendo 64 game that was remade for the Nintendo 3DS in 2015.

Majora's Mask is by no means an easy game to finish, particularly with its unique 3-day time limit. However, there are many ways to make finishing the game easier. One of the best ways to do this is by completing some of the numerous side quests found in the game. Many of the prizes for these quests make progressing easier, whether it is through obtaining extra life, more rupees, special masks, or even Epona.

10 "Lucky Numbers" Is A Great Way To Earn Rupees

This side quest is great for getting rupees consistently throughout the game. Found in Clock Town, the main town in the game, this quest begins when the player buys a lottery ticket. When the winning numbers are announced, the quest will appear in the journal with the winning ticket number. The player repeats this 3 times, once for each day of the 3-day cycle.

Then, using the Ocarina of Time, the player goes back to the first day and chooses a lottery ticket with the winning numbers. Doing so will award the player 150 rupees for each 3-day cycle, a pretty good sum that can be repeated. The quest itself is completed after Link has won on all 3 days.

9 "Bank Loyalty Program" Gives Players A Bigger Wallet

Link Finishes The Banking Quests In Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask

This quest is relatively simple. In Clock Town, there is a bank where Link can deposit rupees. By reaching a certain threshold of accumulated money, Link will receive a prize. At 200 rupees, the banker will give Link the Adult Wallet, which can hold up to 200 rupees at a time. An easy way to make the money is to complete the "Lucky Numbers" quest, which will give the player 150 rupees after the third day, leaving only 50 rupees to go.

To complete the entire quest Link must deposit a total of 5000 rupees into the bank, earning the player a heart piece. To do so, the player may want to first complete "The Suspicious Ocean House" to get the Giant Wallet, allowing them to make fewer trips to the bank.

It is recommended that players complete the first half of the "Bank Loyalty Program" quest before taking on this one, as the reward for these quests will be the Adult Wallet if the first part of the banking quest is not complete, or the Giant Wallet if it is. The Giant Wallet allows Link to carry up to 500 rupees at a time, making it easier to complete the second half of the banking quest.

Shooting Gallery In Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask Game Cropped

This side quest is simple in nature, but difficult to pull off. Found in the Clock Town Shooting Gallery, the player must shoot as many red Octoroks as possible in the given time period while avoiding blue ones.

If the player manages to score 40 points or higher, they are rewarded with the Big Arrow Quiver, allowing them to hold far more arrows. To complete the quest, the player must play a second time and get a perfect score of 50. Doing so will yield a Heart Piece as a prize.

To complete the quest the player will need to purchase the Bigger Bomb Bag from the Clock Town store, which will only be available if they have successfully helped the elderly woman.

After buying the Bigger Bomb Bag, the player will need to trade the bag and an extra 200 rupees to the Gorons in Goron Village to obtain the Biggest Bomb Bag.

The Postman Delivers A Letter And Debates About Leaving Town In The Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask

This side quest is massive and breaks down into several smaller quests that must be completed to finish the overarching quest. Players may want to use a walkthrough for this one, as several elements require completion within a time frame. However, the quests by themselves are not overly difficult to complete as they mostly involve speaking to people.

Completing this series of quests will yield The Postman's Hat as a reward. When worn, Link is free to check postal boxes throughout Clock Town, which will often contain rupees. Additionally, one of the postal boxes will contain a Heart Piece.

4 "Business Scrub Scramble" Leads To 5 Heart Pieces

This relatively simple quest involves small tasks across several areas, meaning that the player will need to travel to many locations to complete it. It also requires a few masks as well as the Hookshot and the Moon's Tear before it can be completed. However, this quest is well-worth doing, as the result is an extra 5 heart pieces.

Upon completion of each of the 5 quest locations, Link can use the Deku Flower to get one Heart Piece, with a total of 5 obtained by the end of the quest. Players know how important extra life is in any Zelda game, so this is not one to be missed.

3 "Protect Romani's Cows" Is Essential For Players Who Want Epona

Romani Teaches Link To Summon Epona In Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask

Surprisingly, Epona is not part of the main quest series in Majora's Mask. However, it is possible to obtain her through a side quest called "Protect Romani's Cows".

The first portion of this quest involves opening the road to Romani Ranch on the first day by blowing up the boulder obstructing the road. Link will then meet Romani who will request his help. If Link is successful in completing Romani's training, he is rewarded with Epona's Song, allowing the player to summon Epona on the map at any time.

After defending Romani Ranch, players are rewarded with milk and can then move to the next quest which involves defending Cremia's cart as it goes into town to receive Romani's Mask.

2 "The Gilded Sword" Leads To A Permanently Improved Weapon

This series of quests will prove incredibly beneficial to players as they progress in the game. This two-quest set can only be done after completing the Snowhead Temple. The Blacksmith in the Mountain Village will offer to upgrade Link's sword for him, and players will obtain the Razor Sword.

However, players can upgrade this sword one more time to power it up even further by completing two Goron-related quests, including winning the Goron Race. The prize for first place is Gold Dust, which can be used to upgrade Link's sword once more to the Gilded Sword, a permanent weapon that will not revert even if time is reset. While the Great Fairy Sword is a bit stronger than this one, the Gilded Sword can be used with the shield, making it a more popular choice for many players.

1 "Child's Play" Gives Players An Edge In The Final Battle

Link Obtains The Fierce Deity Mask After Finishing Childs Mini Temple In Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask

This side quest is easily the most difficult one to start, as it requires the player to have completed every temple and to have obtained every mask in the game. However, as the player gears up for the final fight, this is one quest they will definitely want to complete, as it makes the final battle much easier.

Beginning at the Clock Tower, Link will wind up on the moon after playing the Oath To Order and will meet 5 children, 4 of which will require masks and challenge Link to a mini-temple. The final child will give the player the Fierce Deity Mask. Link will increase his already impressive swordsman skills, gaining a two-handed sword and giving him an edge in the final battle.
