Dark Horse Comics has announced a live reading event of The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars Part 1 through Twitch featuring the voice actors for Korra (Janet Varney) and Asami (Seychelle Gabriel) on April 6, 2020, at 2 p.m. PT.
While The Legend of Korra television series has been off the air since 2014, Korra’s story has continued on in a series of graphic novels ever since, and Turf Wars Part 1 was the first comic book released by Dark Horse about Korra. Now, fans can enjoy this popular chapter from the series with the voices of the characters themselves.
Chapter 1 of the story is centered on Korra and Asami’s relationship as they take a second vacation to the Spirit World, where they have much to discuss regarding their relationship. The live reading will also include a fan Q&A session with the actors, and Dark Horse will be providing a free excerpt of the comic and a prize pack including all of Legend of Korra: Turf Wars and The Legend of Korra: Ruins of the Empire Parts 1-3.
For fans of the series, especially fans of the Korra and Asami relationship, the live reading provides a way to get some new content and enjoy the world of Korra once again. The timing of this live event also provides a way for fans to engage while staying indoors during COVID-19.
