WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Legacies Season 3, Episode 14, "This Feels a Little Cult-y," which aired Thursday on The CW.

MG hasn't been a member of the Super Squad for some time. After MG revealed that he had hidden an ascendant from Hope and the rest of the squad, the school iced him out. Feeling like this might be a betrayal that won't be the easiest to overcome -- and deeply wanting a fresh start and space away from magic in general -- MG decides to attend Mystic Falls High. The decision ultimately leads to Legacies' getting its first official superhero.

At first, the decision to attend Mystic Falls seems to be exactly what MG needs, and he even finds a new best friend in Ethan. It doesn't take too long for MG to reveal to his mortal friend that he is a vampire. Alaric warned MG that being friends with a mortal can cause dire circumstances, but it takes Ethan almost dying for MG to understand this. The teenage vampire compels Ethan to forget their friendship, their brief time crime-fighting and disappears.

Dorian reveals to Alaric that MG hasn't been attending classes at Mystic Falls. He also tells the Salvatore School headmaster that he's noticed an increase in animal attacks throughout the town, leading him to think that a troubled MG has become a ripper. Alaric, believing that MG is "a good kid," decides to search for him with Dorian. Unfortunately, the duo runs into MG in the same area where they see a torn apart body. Reacting to the murder, Dorian shoots MG with a tranquilizer, convinced that he's turned into a bloodthirsty vampire.

After burying the body in the woods, Dorian hears a strange noise. It turns out that a Wendigo has finally made its way to Mystic Falls. The monster attacks Dorian, and Alaric finds his friend in an underground cave. Soon, both Dorian and Alaric realize that this location is MG's "Batcave," as it's equipped with blood bags and contains his journal. Dorian admits that he's read MG's journal, which details how he's been spending the past few days saving people from fires and sketching differing versions for his superhero suit. Beside his sketch is the name that MG bestowed on Ethan prior to their friend breakup -- E-ssential.

Before the duo can apologize to MG, the Wendigo returns to attack them. Fortunately, MG also returns and rips out the Wendigo's heart of ice and sets it on fire. MG thanks the pair for distracting the monster so he could defeat it. Ultimately, they apologize to MG, and the teenage vampire has a heart-to-heart with his former headmaster. He decides that he will return to the Salvatore School, but only if Alaric will allow him to keep saving mortals who need it in Mystic Falls. Alaric agrees and tells MG to work on his superhero name.

Although MG started crime-fighting with Ethan, the vampire had to leave Ethan for his own safety. While that sacrifice was for Ethan's benefit, MG was nevertheless hurt by this decision. While there doesn't seem to be a way for the duo to unite again -- at least while Ethan is mortal -- MG will continue to fight in his name.

Legacies stars Danielle Rose Russell, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, Quincy Fouse, Aria Shahghasemi, Peyton Alex Smith, Matt Davis, Chris Lee, Ben Levin and Leo Howard. New episodes air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
