WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for "This is the Part Where You Run," the season premiere of Legacies.

The CW's latest supernatural series, Legacies, continues the trend that started in The Vampire Diaries and continued in The Originals of layering the show with an underlying mystery. While audiences got to take a look inside the halls of The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, they also met Landon, a seemingly normal boy from Mystic Falls who got caught up in the world of werewolves, witches and vampires.

The Legacies premiere revealed is there is more to Landon than meets the eye, and he is more like his adoptive brother, Raphael, who learned he is a werewolf in the opening moments of "This is the Part Where You Run." The only question is what type of supernatural being is Landon, exactly?

Our first clue that something was up with Landon is when Alaric had his student aid, MG, wipe his memory of everything he'd seen at the Salvatore School. Alaric and Hope could never come up with a valid reason for why MG's memory-wiping spell didn't work the first time, but the second attempt appeared to be successful. However, Landon was just faking and played along in order to be granted his freedom.

However, the disappearance of a rare knife relic immediately after Landon left the Salvatore grounds tipped Alaric off to Landon's ruse. As Alaric explained, "If his mind can't be controlled by a supernatural being, that only means one thing....that he is a supernatural being."

Hope is the star of Legacies and is referred to as a "tri-brid" -- meaning she is a vampire, witch and werewolf all wrapped into one. Is it possible that Landon could be one of the three supernatural beings, or something entirely new? During a visit to the set of Legacies, executive producers Julie Plec and Brett Matthews revealed the series will introduce all-new beings into the popular franchise, so there is a good chance Landon could have abilities never seen before. What that means for Season 1 of Legacies remains to be seen.
