A fan-favorite character from The Vampire Diaries appeared on the latest episode of Legacies to lend a helping hand to Rafael and Landon.

In "We're Being Punked, Pedro," Rafael and Landon decide to make some extra money gambling by having Rafael use his werewolf-abilities out in public. Of course, this draws some unwanted attention their way from a werewolf hunter. But before the hunter can strike, Rafael and Landon are both tranquilized. They wake up to find themselves chained to trees next to a man with a bow sticking out of his chest. A hooded figure appears and frees them from their chains, revealing himself to be Jeremy Gilbert, an original cast member of The Vampire Diaries.

Steven R. McQueen starred as Jeremy on The Vampire Diaries from Season 1 through Season 6, reappearing again in Season 8. Jeremy is the biological cousin and adoptive brother to Elena, one of the series' main protagonists.

Once Rafael and Landon went on the run, Alaric tasked Jeremy with tracking them down to make sure they stayed out of trouble. Once Jeremy saw Rafael flaunting his werewolf abilities for profit, he sent a warning message to the duo, which Landon hid from Rafael. Jeremy goes on to warn Rafael and Landon that just because one of them has supernatural abilities, it doesn't make them invulnerable or susceptible to an attack.

After burying the hunter's body, Jeremy delivers Rafael and Landon back to the Salvatore Boarding School, where the episode ends with Landon and Hope seeing each other again after he stole a mystical knife and their encounter with a fire-breathing dragon.
