Legacies: Hope, Josie Execute a Dangerous Plan to Close the Malivore Portal

The second season of Legacies has been full of teenage angst and drama, heightened by the supernatural hijinks throughout Mystic Falls which constantly threaten the town. Now, a new development is leading to desperate decisions.

The CW has released the official plot synopsis for the season's seventh episode, titled "It Will All Be Painfully Clear Soon Enough." Protagonist Hope Mikaelson is dissuaded from leaving town by Josie Saltzman. Josie instructs her to close the Malivore portal, a gateway into a hellish dimension, and save the others. Meanwhile, secrets about Professor Vardemus and Landon Kirby come to the surface, shocking the other characters.

Elsewhere, Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Dorian (guest star Demetrius Bridges) make an alarming discovery about Professor Vardemus (guest star Alexis Denisof), while Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) learns some upsetting news about Landon’s (Aria Shahghasemi) future. Vardemus had been introduced earlier this season as a new rival for Alaric Saltzman, following Alaric's departure from teaching at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted. Just how the revelation about Vardemus will impact his rivalry with Alaric has yet to be seen.
