WARNING: This article contains spoilers for "Some People Just Want to Watch the World Burn," the latest episode of Legacies.
The big mysteries spinning out of the season premiere of The CW's Legacies involved Landon Kirby, a stolen knife and a bus filled with burnt passengers. As it turns out, Landon isn't responsible for murdering over a dozen innocent people, but the search to find him did reveal a mystical creature that is normally associated with another television series with a cult following: Game of Thrones.
"Some People Just Want to Watch the World Burn" features Alaric, Hope and Rafael tracking Landon down in a forest near the bus crime scene. But before they find him the group encountered a confused woman who they believe is a survivor of the bus fire. However, there is more to this woman than meets the eye, as she begins to shoot fire out of her mouth. Believing the woman is a pyromancer, aka a fire-breathing witch, they devise a plan to use the stolen knife to subdue her. A witch that can breathe fire is pretty impressive in its own right, but that's not all; after studying the evidence (fire-breathing, a hidden lair with stolen treasure items) the group deduces the woman is an actual dragon in human form.

"Dragons don't exist, or look like normal people," Alaric told Dorian over the phone. "There was a time we would have said that about vampires," he replied. Dorian goes on to say the only way to take down a dragon involves using a sword. The Salvatore School residents didn't bring a sword with them on this mission, but they do have the knife Landon originally stole.
Hope and Rafael work together to defeat the human-dragon by stabbing her in the heart. However, she proved she can't be killed that easily as she transforms into her full dragon form and takes to the skies. Seeing the massive dragon reminds us of the dragons typically found in HBO's Game of Thrones, and follows the trend of introducing a different mystical creature in each episode of Legacies' freshman season.
The dragon is ultimately defeated with Hope's use of black magic, which is forbidden at the Salvatore School. Alaric is frightened by seeing Hope use the black magic, calling it her father's influence breaking through. This is the second time Hope has gone down this path, and will definitely warrant monitoring as Legacies continues, along with what other supernatural creatures will make a hair-raising debut.
