"Superman Unchained" #1 was the top-selling comic of June according to Diamond's sales report.

June was a big month for Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Not only did Marvel's "Age of Ultron" event publish its final two issues, DC debuted three major issues: Scott Snyder and Jim Lee's highly anticipated "Superman Unchained" #1; Greg Pak and Jae Lee's "Batman/Superman" #1; and "Batman" #21 -- the starting issue for Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's "Zero Year" arc. It's no surprise that all these issues comprised the top five comics of the month with DC sweeping the top three spots. However, Marvel had the lions' share of the top ten with a total of six books: the already mentioned "Age of Ultron" #9 and #10, "Superior Spider-Man" #11 and #12, "All-New X-Men" #12 and the debut issue of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.'s "Kick-Ass 3."

Unsurprisingly, "The Walking Dead" led in trade sales with its eighteenth volume, followed closely by "Saga" volume 2 and BOOM! Studios' "Adventure Time" volume 3. Image Comics' second volume of "The Walking Dead" also made the top ten, as did "Fatale" volume 3. Marvel's "Star-Lord: The Hollow Crown" and "Deadpool Killustrated" clocked in at 4 and 5, respectively, while DC capped off the top ten with "Batman and Robin" volume 1, "Harley Quinn: Night and Day" and "Before Watchmen: Minutemen/Silk Spectre," the only hardcover to break the top 10 this month.

While most of the comparative sales statistics were up from 2012, sales overall were down from May 2013, with comics dropping nearly 3% in dollars and units; and graphic novels dropping nearly 20% in both dollars and units. However, dollars and units are both up compared to the second quarter of 2012 and the first half of 2012.
