Arguably the biggest draw of the new additions is The Last of Us Part II, one of the most successful games of 2020. A sequel to developer Naughty Dog's critically acclaimed The Last of Us from 2013, Part II continues the harrowing story of those who still struggle to survive a world decimated by a zombie plague. Whereas The Last of Us told the story of protagonists Joel and Ellie, the sequel shifted the perspective to focus closer on Ellie's journey, along with the story of a new character, Abby Anderson.

While the game's provocative storyline sparked a starkly divisive reaction from The Last of Us fans, the survival horror sequel still became one of the highest-grossing PlayStation games of all time, and it went on to handily sweep the 2020 Game Awards. Unlike the rest of the October lineup, PlayStation confirmed that The Last of Us Part II will only be available on PlayStation Now until Jan. 3, 2022.

Fallout 76, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and released in 2018, completely reimagined the Fallout universe, turning the post-apocalyptic sci-fi RPG into an online multiplayer experience. In the land of Appalachia, a far-future version of the state of West Virginia ravaged by nuclear war, players can party up with their friends or join a public server to either survive the monster-infested wasteland as a team or turn on other players to scavenge their resources.

Fallout 76 received a mixed reception from critics and fans alike, even prompting a handful of controversies since the game's release. However, Bethesda has remained committed to improving the Fallout 76 experience, continuing to tweak technical issues and add fresh content updates to expand and improve the experimental Fallout entry.

Desperados III is a story-driven, real-time tactical game that pits players against the worst that the Wild West has to offer. Developed by Mimimi Games, Desperados' combat system allows players to form their own style of play as they navigate varied environments and overcome a plethora of opponents as they unravel the origin of series protagonist John Cooper.

Amnesia: Collection includes three games in one, packing the first-person horror trilogy into one complete title. Collection includes Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, and Amnesia: Justine, three harrowing journeys through three distinct realms of terror.

The classic JRPG Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is the second of five Final Fantasy titles joining PlayStation Now, following up last month's addition of Final Fantasy VII. Victor Vran is an isometric action RPG that allows players to slay demons either alone or with friends in co-op, and Yet Another Zombie Defense is a top-down zombie shooter that demands careful planning and strategy from its players if they want to survive the night.
