Glover portrayed Lando Calrissian in 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film revealed the early origins of Han Solo, the first meeting between Han and Chewbacca, and explained how he came to win the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian. Alden Ehrenreich played a young Han Solo, which was originally portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars trilogy. Billy Dee Williams portrayed Lando in The Empire Strikes BackReturn of the Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker.

Ehrenreich has been in the news recently for downplaying reports of a sequel to Solo, though he did tease other developments in the Star Wars universe. "I've heard soooome stuff, but nothing concrete," he said.

Directed by Ron Howard and from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Joonas Suotamo, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michael K. Williams and Woody Harrelson.
