A mythic world of origami comes alive in the final trailer for Laika's "Kubo and the Two Strings," which reveals a little more about the title characer's quest while sprinkling in some family-friendly humor.

The stop-motion fantasy adventure follows Kubo (played by "Game of Thrones" actor Art Parkinson), a young musician caring for his ailing mother in their small village. But their idyllic lifestyle is shattered when Kubo accidentally summons an evil spirit, pushing him to venture far and wide to uncover the truth of his ancestry. Along the way he meets friends like the four-armed samurai Beetle (Matthew McConaughey), and Monkey (Charlize Theron).

The film marks the directorial debut of Laika President and CEO Travis Knight, who served as lead animator on "Coraline," "ParaNorman" and "The Boxtrolls."

Also starring Ralph Fiennes, Rooney Mara and George Takei, "Kubo" debuts Aug. 19.
