Kyoto Animation has released a new trailer for its upcoming anime film, Tsurune.

The trailer showcases the story's archery focus and confirms a 2022 premiere window. Takuya Yamamura (Violet Evergarden, A Silent Voice) is directing the film with Michiko Yokote (D.Gray-man Hallow, Prison School) writing and supervising scripts, Miku Kadowaki (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Free!-the Final Stroke-) providing the character designs and Harumi Fuuki (Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna) composing the soundtrack.

The film also features a veteran voice cast, including Yuuto Uemura (My Hero Academia, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) as protagonist Minato Narumiya, Aoi Ichikawa (Wise Man's Grandchild) as Seiya Takehaya, Shintaro Asanuma (Assassination Classroom, Snow White with the Red Hair) as Masaki Takigawa and Shougo Yano (Pretty Boy Detective Club) as Nanao Kisaragi.

The original light novel of the same name by Kotoko Ayana and Chinatsu Morimoto was first released on Dec. 26, 2016; it won the Special Judge's Award in the Kyoto Animation Awards that year and the studio subsequently published the story. It then adapted Tsurune into an anime series that premiered in Oct. 2018. The story follows higher schooler Minato Narumiya as his childhood friends try to convince him to join the school's archery club.

The Tsurune anime series can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
