"Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter is getting back into comics. Deadline reports he will team up with BOOM! studios for "Sisters of Sorry," his third comic book series. No artist has yet been announced.

"Sisters of Sorrow" will tell the story of four women, all of whom are victims of violent crimes. The four women will take on their perpetrators while dressed as nuns armed with bulletproof black leather and white habits, not to mention the state-of-the-art weaponry.

“Yep, nuns with guns, baby,” Sutter said in a statement. “I’ve been wanting to create a mythology around kick ass female characters -- and in this current sociopolitical climate, it seems more important than ever.”

This won't be the first time BOOM! and Sutter have partnered to bring audiences kick-ass comics. Earlier this year, Sutter released his supernatural fantasy comic series "Lucas Stand." Through a partnership between BOOM! and FX, Sutter also created a comic series of his FX show, "Sons of Anarchy."

“One of my favorite parts of the creation process in comics is when you find collaborators that you’re immediately in lockstep with,” BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon told Deadline. “Ever since we started working with Kurt on the 'Sons of Anarchy' comic books and then on 'Lucas Stand,' we feel like we’ve found a creative brother."

"With 'Sisters of Sorrow,' Kurt has cooked up a wickedly hard-hitting series that features complex characters and a killer concept," he continued. "In other words, 'Sisters of Sorrow' is pure Sutter.”

Sutter's new comic series will debut in July at San Diego Comic-Con.
