I have to admit, I'm with my fellow Spinoff Online blogger Graeme McMillan on this one: Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom sounds kind of great.

DreamWorks Animation have announced new casting additions to the Kung Fu Panda sequel in addition to the previously announced and eternally awesome Gary Oldman. New actors joining the animated martial arts epic include Jean Claude Van Damme (Universal Soldier) and Victor Garber (Alias) as two new masters, Croc and Thundering Rhino, respectively. Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) has also joined the cast as the Soothsayer, a goat. Additionally, Oldman's villainous peacock goes by the name of Lord Shen. He is the leader of a group of bandits that Po (Jack Black) must battle.

Kung Fu Panda veterans Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, David Cross and James Hong are all returning for the sequel.

Producer Melissa Cobb described the sequel's new talent in a press release: "Po goes on an amazing personal journey and we are thrilled to have assembled such a talented and well-respected group of actors to bring to life our new characters, who — alongside our returning cast — play such a critical role in Po's quest and his ultimate triumph over the forces of evil."

The sequel is set for release on May 27, 2011.
