The fallout from the failed coup against the Voice of Rao, who's now controlled by Brainiac, plays out on a very personal level in this CBR-exclusive first look at this week's episode of Krypton.

Set two generations before the birth of Superman, and the destruction of his home world, the Syfy drama follows the Man of Steel's grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) as he fights to restore his family's honor, save the planet from the threat of Brainiac and ensure his grandson's legacy as the greatest hero in the universe.

In this clip, from tonight's episode, "Savage Night," Seg is crammed into a skimmer with his true love Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) and his betrothed, the calculating Nyssa-Vex (Wallis Day). In such close quarters, Nyssa can't help but tweak Lyta, only to expose her true feelings for Seg in the process.

"How did you expect your little coup to end up?" asks Lyta. "With you and your father shining atop a hill, bringing Kandor into a new Golden Age?"

"No," a suddenly sullen Nyssa responds, "I expected it to be me and Seg. But things never really turn out the way you expect, do they?"
