The latest promo for Syfy's Krypton features a relic from Seg-El's future. In the brief promo, Seg-El approaches Superman's cape, which hangs from a stand that bears the House of El's family crest. However, when he picks it up, it begins to disappear in his hands, starting from the bottom up.

"This cape belongs to your future grandson," a disembodied voice narrates over the promo. "You have to save your world. You have to save your legacy."

The disappearing cape likely refers to Seg-El's challenge: save his planet or allow it to be destroyed so that Superman is sent to Earth. If he chooses the former, preventing Krypton's death, Superman will never become a hero on Earth. Thus, in a very Back to the Future-inspired move, his cape would no longer exist.
