After Brainiac and now Zod, another big Superman villain is coming to Syfy's Krypton. A new promo for the series' upcoming episodes was just released, and it teases the arrival of Doomsday, the monstrous creature fated to one day kill Superman.
The promo focuses largely on the recently revealed identity of actor Colin Salmon's character, General Zod, who, like Adam Strange, has traveled back in time. It appears as if Zod is already well aware of the oncoming threat of Brainiac, and he believes that there is only one weapon that can stop the Collector of Worlds: Doomsday.
While we don't see the unkillable monster in the promo, it appears like we do catch a glimpse of the doors that are holding him. Zod is on a mission to save Krypton, and Doomsday is his best bet. It sure helps that, coming from the future, he probably knows that the creature is powerful enough to kill Superman.
In the DC Extended Universe movie Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, it was revealed that there had been more than one Doomsday creature created before the one Superman would fight. It therefore appears that Krypton is featuring the same type of backstory to the Superman villain.
Airing Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy, Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange, Georgina Campbell as Lyta-Zod, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogbomo as Jayna-Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex, Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em, Ian McElhinney as Val-El and Blake Ritson as Brainiac.
